About the Board
The Maryville Community Improvement Board (MCIB) was created in November 2006 after a call for volunteers from the mayor. The committee consists of 17 volunteers, the largest of the Village committees. All meetings are open to the public.
Officers are elected by a majority vote of the MCIB and include a chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary, and treasurer. Other non-elected positions include a public relations officer and volunteer coordinator. Meetings are attended by the mayor and a village trustee, who are not voting members of the MCIB, but offer guidance and insight to topics being discussed. All MCIB programs that require the expenditure of Village funds need a vote by the Village Board for approval.
Board Responsibilities
The mission of the MCIB is to make recommendations to the Board of Trustees on general and specific issues calculated to result in an improvement of Maryville facilities, housing, general appearance, beautification, health and welfare issues, maintenance, and/or aspects intended to improve the quality of life for Maryville residents.
The MCIB is always looking for ideas and suggestions to make the Village of Maryville a better place. If you have any ideas or suggestions please feel free to attend one of our monthly meetings or submit them in writing to the Village.
